What a Good Profile Leaves Out

Clutter Buries the Point

A profile can fail by including too much as easily as too little. Slogans, filler and every possible claim pile up until the facts a customer actually needs are buried under noise.

Restraint is a discipline. A profile that says only what matters, plainly, is easier to read and more persuasive than one that tries to say everything and drowns its own message.

Cut to Sharpen

The strongest profiles leave things out on purpose: the empty superlatives, the vague claims, the padding that adds words without adding clarity. What remains is sharper for the cutting.

Deciding what to omit is harder than deciding what to include, which is why so few profiles do it. The ones that do stand out precisely because they respect the reader's attention.
